The Narayangadh-Muglin road section will be operational round the clock from May 8 to May 17 in view of the upcoming local level elections scheduled for May 14.
The road section, which is undergoing expansion, is closed for six hours daily—from 10am to 4pm-to facilitate construction work.
According to project officials, construction work, however, will continue without disrupting vehicular movement from May 8 to May 17.
“The road section will be operational round the clock as many people will be travelling for the local level elections,” said project engineer Shiva Khanal.
Every day more than 13,000 vehicles ply the 36-km road, one of the major links to the Capital.
According to Khanal, expansion work will be intensified after closing the road for six hours daily again after May 18.
Traffic along the road section has already increased with local elections just about a week away. Road expansion work along this stretch started two years ago.
