Tamang questioned election officer Shiwani Khadgi and other officials at the Rani Devi Lower Secondary School in Ranibari but they were clueless.
Khadgi suggested that he inquire the central office of the Election Commission at Bahadur Bhawan when Tamang said he would not cast his vote if his wife Shanti’s card was not found.
Another voter of Ranibari, who refused to be named, was asking Khadgi whether she would allow him to vote at her polling booth as the EC listed his name for a booth at Valley Public School, Golfutar.
These are but examples of discrepancies in the voter list. Khadgi said she had faced several such cases in the last two days. She added that many voters of the last election were not on the list because they had not registered themselves again believing that they would be able to vote with their old card.
Lekhnath Adhikary, another election officer deployed at the Gyan Kunja School polling centre in Shankhamul, also said several voters were sent to different other booths as their IDs were not found at his booth.
Many voters have been presenting their issues with the polling officers, showing their IDs received during the CA polls. Retaining officer of Tokha Municipality Dinbandhu Baral said the complaints have been forwarded to the Election Commission.
