Journalist Shree Bhakta Khanal’s new book, Apthayaro Bato, was released amid a function held recently in the Capital. The book, which revolves around the struggles of the Tibetan refugees, was unveiled jointly by authors Mohan Mainali and Viplob Pratik.

In the book, Khanal explores the long and complicated social and political realities of Tibetan refugees who have been living in Nepal for more than five decades.

Speaking at the event, author Khanal said, “I have tried to explore the livelihood of Tibetan refugees in Nepal and address their issues without touching upon the historical and disputed relationship of Tibet-China.” He added, “I have tried to depict the struggle and hardship of refugees who have had to leave their birthplace and their struggle with the new place, culture, language and environment.”

The book is published by Sangrila Books.
