Photojournalism workshop kicks off
A week-long workshop for practicing photojournalists has kicked off at the Nepal Tourism Board in the Capital. Organised by the Ministry of Information and Technology, and coordinted by Photojournalist’s Club of Nepal,A week-long workshop for practicing photojournalists has kicked off at the Nepal Tourism Board in the Capital. Organised by the Ministry of Information and Technology, and coordinted by Photojournalist’s Club of Nepal, the workshop will seek to enhance the skills of participating photojournalists at a time when the media landscape and the mediums of storytelling are fast evolving.
The event is being attended by 25 photojournalists.
“The core goal of the workshop is to enhance the skills and competency of photojournalists, both working for print and online, and how to go about procuring images for respective media,” the organisers said at a press meet held on Wednesday.
At the event, Secretary of the Ministry at Information and Technology Mahendra Man Gurung said, “Photojournalists are an integral part of news and information dissemination. Workshops like this are crucial in strenghthening the quality of reporting.”
The workshop is being mentored by Jimmy Domingo, a photographer from Philippines, and veteran photographer Narendra Shrestha. The workshop will continue till June 6.
