China culture week from June 21

China Intangible Culture Heritage week will be organised in Kathmandu from June 21-24, the organisers China Culture Centre announced on Friday. After a formal opening on June 21, the next two days of the event will hosted on the premises of Siddhartha Vanasthali School that will showcase heritage exhibition, traditional Chinese paintings, wood carving and live orchestra, among others. The event will also feature kite flying experience, with instructors from Shandong share tricks and techniques of kite flying with participants. “We have selected 90 students from Siddhartha Vanasthali School for kite flying session,” said Yin Kunsong, director at the China Culture Centre. More than 1,500 people are expected to participate over four days of the event. Yin said the centre is also planning to lead a delegation of Nepali artists to Beijing later this year. (PR)
