This was communicated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara to Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri during a meeting between the duo at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already invited the PM Deuba to visit India at a convenient date.
Immediately after Deuba’s election as the new prime minister on June 7, Modi had rung him up to extend congratulations and had invited him to visit the southern neighbour.
Similarly, India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has also invited Foreign Minister Mahara to visit India.
Mahara, according to a MoFA statement, told Indian envoy on Wednesday that he would visit India around the visit of Prime Minister Deuba.
Various aspects of bilateral relations, including Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism to expedite the Indian-funded projects in Nepal, were also discussed during the meeting.
The Embassy of India in Kathmandu said that Mahara and Puri discussed ways to further expand and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Indian envoy on Wednesday also held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education Gopalman Shrestha and discussed cooperation in the field of education in Nepal.
