Charter amendment after talks with UML, says PM
Jun 25, 2017-
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has underlined the need for holding all the three tiers of elections for the sake of implementing the constitution.
At a press conference held by the Nepal Press Union in Kanchanpur on Saturday morning, the PM stressed that the constitution’s full implementation would take its course once the local, provincial and central elections are held.
He added that discussions would be held with the main opposition—CPN-UML—after the local level elections for amending the constitution.
The PM expressed his hope that the agitating parties will take part in the third phase of local elections even without constitutional amendments.
On the occasion, Deuba vowed to develop the Pancheshwar Project. “The Upper Karnali and Western Seti projects will now be developed,” he said, promising to construct a four-lane bridge over the Mahakali river.
