RPP to delist cadres challenging party’s official candidates
Jun 25, 2017-
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party will scrap the membership of leaders and cadres independently contesting the second phase of local level elections with the sole aim of defeating the party’s official candidates.
According to RPP leader Rajaram Shrestha, the pro-Hindu, pro-monarchy party is preparing to initiate action against the leaders and cadres whose candidacy is driven by the goal of defeating their colleagues chosen on the basis of merit and contribution to the party.
The party has instructed its town and ward committees to hold effective election
campaigns in the 334 local units in three provinces.
The newly united party had a poor performance in the first round of elections.
This time around, the party has intensified its publicity campaigns, RPP spokesperson Bhuwan Pathak said.
The party’s senior leaders and officials have left for the districts to participate in the election campaigns.
