A person from Dalit community was beaten for entering a temple in Saptari on Tuesday.
Liladhar Das (Tatma), 42, of Bode basin Municipality-6, was critically injured when he was assaulted by a group of non-Dalit people for entering a local temple to offer prayers.
Das was admitted to the Rajbiraj-based Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital on Wednesday with a fractured arm and injuries in different parts of his body. Doctors at the Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital have referred Das to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, Sunsari, for further treatment.
According to Das, he was beaten by a group of men, some of whom he identified as Raj Kumar Yadav, Ram Chandra Yadav and Sakladev Yadav.
