Shree Gadgate Basic School at Changu Narayan-6 has been rebuilt using quake-resistant technology which can accommodate 150 students in nine of its classrooms.
Uddhav Jamakattel, the school headmaster, thanked OT during the building
handover and said: “It is a meaningful gesture we are sure to remember.
In this difficult time, we managed together to rebuild an entire school where we can feel safe and relieved.”
“We can now focus on teaching and learning without any fear,” he added.
The entire reconstruction was funded by OT, which is also supporting Nepalese
government by providing Machine-Readable Passports (MRP).
“We strongly believe education is the fundamental pillar of society and therefore should be available to everyone, everywhere and always” said Christophe Fontaine, managing director at the Citizen Access and Identity Business Unit of OT.
