Single vote decides victor

CPN (Maoist Centre)’s candidate Sudhan Regmi emerged the victor with an advantage of a single vote against his rival Purna Bahadur Malla of Nepali Congress.
Election officer Arjun Gautam said though Malla seemed to have a favourable position because of the electoral alliance between NC and CPN-UML, it was Maoist Centre’s Regmi who went on to win the election.
Regmi received 470 votes and Malla 469. Maoist Centre has won most of the seats in Sisne, including the rural municipality chief. Kumari Baral Gautam was elected the chairperson of the rural municipality after she secured 3,296 votes.
Her closest rival was Nandalal Sharma from UML who garnered 2,471 votes. (PR)
