Monsoon drenches whole country

Three weeks after the onset of monsoon, the entire country has started receiving rains now, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Monsoon arrived in the eastern part of the country on June 12 and since then has spread towards west and reached the far-western parts of the country, with Dhangadi receiving 93 millimetre of rain in the past 24 hours.
Heavy rains are expected in Tarai and far-western districts on Wednesday, said meteorologist Subas Rimal. At 93mm, Dhangadi received the highest rainfall followed by Nepalgunj (66 mm), Dang (65 mm), Birendranagar (26 mm) and Dadeldhura (24 mm).
In the East, Dhankuta received 33 mm of rain followed by Okhaldhunga (15 mm), Taplejung (14 mm) and Biratnagar 10 mm. Kath-mandu received 25mm of rainfall and Bhairahawa 24mm. More rains are expected in Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Bara, said Rimal.
