Amendment proposal should be rewritten, says SSF-N

Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal has clarified that the revised amendment proposal registered at Parliament should be rewritten before moving ahead for endorsement.
The two-day long meeting of the party’s office-bearers, which concluded on Sunday, decided that the constitution should be amended in such a way that addresses the issues of Madhesis, Dalits, Tharus, Muslims, women and other marginalised communities, as per the 26-point proposal of Sanghiya Gathabandhan and the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha that was submitted to the government earlier.
The meeting concluded that the registered amendment proposal was only intended to ensure local level polls and that it was incomplete, ambiguous and incapable of resolving the national issues.
“There is no alternative to constitution amendment in order to resolve the existing national issues,” states a press statement issued by the party.
