Environmentalists of Nepal and Japan have stressed the need to revert to natural lifestyles.
At a programme organised by Japan’s Yokohama City University and Yamadabi Company in the Capital on Friday, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa said forest conservation is a human responsibility.
The ambassador noted that the Nepali community must make efforts to translate the saying “Green Forest is Nepal’s Wealth” into practice. On the occasion, Hem Lal Aryal member secretary of the Chure-Bhawar-Madhes Forest Conservation Committee, Prof Fujiwara of Yokohama University, Yamadabi Company Chairperson
Yamadahibeo, environmentalist Mahendra Nath Subedi and Nepali international law practitioner working in Japan Balaram Shrestha, among others laid stress on the need to learn from Japan and act to conserve forests in Nepal.
