Bharatpur vote count : Hearing put off until July 23

Earlier also the court had failed to hear the case, for three times, despite including it in the daily cause list.
A division bench of Justices Om Prakash Mishra and Purushottam Bhandari was hearing the case on Monday, but judgment is still pending. After advocate Tikaram Bhattarai pleaded on behalf of the writ petitioners on Monday, the bench said the hearing will continue on July 23. The fracas on the night of May 28 had resulted in the halt of vote counting in Bharatpur Metropolis. CPN (Maoist Centre) representatives had allegedly torn ballot papers when vote counting of Ward 19 was underway.
CPN-UML’s Devi Gyawali was leading when the fracas led to the halt of vote counting. CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Renu Dahal is running against Gyawali for the Bharatpur mayoral post. Renu is Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s daughter.
