In what was yet another boisterous round of auditions, Seikh Farukh Miya and Bishal Koirala piped hundreds of other contestants to retain a shot at being crowed the first ever Himalaya Roadie, along with bagging a cash purse of up to Rs 20,00,000 and a Bajaj Avenger motorcycle.
A one-of-its-kind reality game show on the Nepali airwaves, Himalaya Roadies, is a spin-off of the popular Indian show MTV Roadies. MTV Roadies, which has proven to be one of the biggest reality shows in South Asia, with thousands of contestant and audiences for over a decade, is a show often associated with the youth and a reflection of the attitude of adventurists. In the show, a group of contestants travel to different destinations and participate in various tasks that challenge their physical and mental strength. During the course of the journey, there are vote outs, vote ins, eliminations and game changing twists. Eventually, the contestant who manages to survive vote outs and succeeds in the final task is chosen as the winner.
A franchise of Viacom 18, Himalaya Roadies will span the length of 18 episodes where the contestants who emerge out of the audition rounds will traverse the diverse and oftentimes torrid landscapes Nepal has on offer in Journey rounds of the show. With the theme “Rising Through Hell”, show will then seek to crown on Roadie who outlasts and outperforms all the other contestants.
