The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has initiated investigation into the deaths of four of a family in Banepa.
Rajaram Dahal, 32, his father Haribhakta Dahal, 65, mother Harimaya Dahal, 60, and sister Ranjana Dahal, 25, were found dead inside Gautam Bhojanayala, an eatery run by Rajaram, on Friday evening.
Rajaram’s two wives had lodged a complaint with police, stating their husband and other family members had committed suicide.
Bodies have been sent to TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for postmortem.
“Investigation is underway. Details about the incident will be known after the postmortem report,” said DSP Arun Poudel who is leading a team of investigators comprising doctors.
Locals had informed police after they saw glass shards at the eatery which was closed.
Security personnel had recovered a bottle of Celphos, a pesticide, from the incident site. Rajaram had been running the eatery at Tukucha Nala area in Banepa-2 for the past nine years. His two wives have staying separately with their children.
Locals suspect property dispute between Rajaram’s wives could have led to the incident.
Rajaram’s first wife Kamala has been staying separately at Tukucha Nala while the second wife Puja has been living in a house is registered in her name in Banepa.
