The event, which has garnered a reputation for giving attendees a snapshot into the future of Nepali arts, this year has on display works by 14 students.
The 2017 iteration of the BFA Exhibition Project is currently on display at the Nepal Art Council in the Capital and was inaugurated jointly by vice-chancellor of KU, Ram Kanta Makaju and the French Ambassador to Nepal Yves Carmona on Thursday.
The exhibit showcases forays into different genres of art by the KU’s art school’s graduating class, majoring in Graphic Communication and Studio Art, and features works by a total of 14 students-spanning across genres such as painting, graphic art and studio art—which explore themes of Nepali culture, lifestyle and gender equality.
“In the works displayed, you can see various strands of creative approaches and ideas of the artists, and their reflections. These perceptions have been conveyed in highly individual forms,” the organisers said. “The exhibition showcases a variety of ideas and concepts of the visual language, conveyed in different forms, which is a culmination of the journey taken by the students and their thought processes.”
The exhibit will run through July 24.
