Nepal Police is launching on Wednesday an anti-harassment campaign targeted at protecting women on public vehicles. During the three-month drive ‘Safety Pin Campaign’, police will conduct sting operations on public vehicles and run awareness campaigns.
According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Bam Bahadur Bhandari, personnel in plain clothes will take immediate action if anyone reports a case of harassment on board. Transport associations have agreed to support the campaign, DIG Bhandari said.
