Multiple landslides strike Narayangadh-Muglin road
Aug 4, 2017-
The Narayangadh-Muglin road section has been obstructed due to multiple landslides since Wednesday night.
At least 10 major landslides occurred along the road. Four vehicles were also buried but there was no casualty, said police.
Three of the vehicles were recovered while a passenger bus was still not traced out as of Thursday evening.
Engineer Shiva Khanal at the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project said that landslides had struck Duikilo, Tinkilo, Seti Dovan and Ghumaune, among other places, and that it would take until Friday noon at the earliest to clear the debris.
Around 200 vehicles stranded along the road after the landslides have been moved to safety, said Santosh Panta, chief at the Chitwan District Traffic Police Office.
He added that efforts to clear the debris from the road were being hampered by continuous rain.
Only on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had inspected the road and instructed the concerned authorities to complete the construction work at the earliest.
