Kavre-based literary magazine Akshyarmarg Quarterly has honoured six litterateurs for their contribution to Nepali literature amid a function held to mark the magazine’s anniversary in Kavre over the weekend.

Among the recipients of the award are professor and novelist Govinda Raj Bhattarai (with the Bishnuhem Akshyarmarg Baristha Sadhak Samman); eminent poet Narendra Bahadur Shrestha (with the Shreeram Smriti Akshyarmarg Samman); Rama Sharma (with Akshyarmarg Narabahadur Smriti Samman); Mani Raj Singh (with Bharatraj Akshyarmarg Srasta Samman); Govinda Bahadur Thapa (with Khadgadev Akshyarmarg Kavreli Srasta Samman); and Dhruba Krishna Tamrakar (with Akshyarmarg Sahakarmi Pratibha Samman).

The honours were handed over by senior litterateur Chitaranjan Nepali. The function also saw the unveiling of two books—Sikshya, Sanskriti and Samajsewa ka Tribeni Gyankaji Manandhar, and Mero Fulbaari (a poetry anthology).

Awardees Maniraj Singh and Narendra Bahadur Shrestha also recited their poems at the event.
