Low-pressure monsoon causing extensive rains
Met official: Nepal’s weather is the result of the impact of low pressure region near Orissa and north-west Bengal in India
Aug 20, 2017-The effects of low-pressure monsoon caused nationwide cloud and resulted in rainfall in some parts of the country on Saturday.
The Meteorological Forecast Division has said the rainfall in the country’s central region was the result of the low-pressure monsoon system. The low pressure-monsoon circle has gradually weakened in the country and the development of the low pressure region has caused rainfall in Kathmandu Valley and the surrounding districts, expert at the Division Barun Poudel said.
According to him, Nepal’s weather is the result of the impact of low pressure region near Orissa and north-west Bengal in India. Poudel added that the weather pattern would continue till Sunday.As per the latest update, Taplejung recorded 40 millilitres of rainfall, the highest for the day across the country, with Kathmandu logging the lowest at just 3 millilitres.
