The exhibit will have on display abstract paintings by Limbu which he made over the course the last decade.
Releasing a statement on the eve of the opening, Limbu said that the works on display in this exhibit provides a greater richness to his understanding of his medium, himself and his historical context.
“I have tried to strike a balance between subjective and objective values onto the canvas. For an artist, experiencing and creating an environment of joy, ease and spontaneity by accepting it within himself is important,” said artist Limbu, “And being accepted by others is an abstract form of “acceptance”. I have tried to portray this abstract sense of acceptance in my paintings.”
Limbu said that the paintings on display create various exploratory visual surfaces which can plaintly explicate layers of emotions.
“The forms and figures in the first layer are complimented by colours which resonate in a sensitive manner and convey a sense of smooth incorporation,” said Limbu.
Samahit will run through September 3.
