Search on for killer leopard

Frequent leopard attacks, some of which have been fatal, have unleashed terror among locals of Tallosorad in Baitadi. 

As many as 22 people have been mauled to death by leopards in the area in the last five years, leaving Tallosorad residents worried. In view of the leopard terror, a 17-member police team equipped with arms has been mobilised to hunt down the killer cat. 

“We have launched a search operation to trace the wild beast since Saturday,” said Inspector Kamal Bista. 

Recently two children had died in leopard attacks, following which a team of 15 armed police personnel was deployed to hunt down the animal. Leopards have been straying into Kulau, Bishalpur, Aamchaura, Mahakali, Pancheshwor, Sharmali and Udayadev villages and attacking people, according to police.
