Nearly 80 delegates from 18 countries will participate in the event, the organiser said on Thursday.
The objective of the event is to bring people from different sectors to a single platform to share their skills and ideas. The event will also showcase different domestic and international products. The basic idea is to create awareness about entrepreneurship amongst women, the organiser said.
“70 women have already registered for the event and among them, 50 of them are Nepali,” said Pramila Acharya Rijal, president of South Asian Women Development Forum. “The event is also an opportunity for women to develop their skills and ideas.” The forum promotes women entrepreneurship from different Asian countries.
Three women from India, Pakistan and Malaysia working in the IT sector (Information Technology) are also participating in the event. The forum is also highlighting the importance of the tourism sector, traditional textile and related industries. One of the main aims of the organisation is to establish large scale industries in the country.
The summit aims to become a regional hub for networking and connecting women SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) to explore significant opportunities in cooperation and joint investments with potential counterparts, according to the press release. The event will also help to transfer technologies between participants.
