EC calls for tight security

During a meeting of the High-Level Security Committee held in the Capital on Monday, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav directed the security bodies to seal the border for an appropriate duration and tighten security checks at the polling centres besides appointing rescue teams as required.
Yadav thanked the Army for speedy construction of roads destroyed by the recent floods in the plains.
According to EC Spokesperson Navaraj Dhakal, Home Secretary Lokdarshan Regmi, Defence Secretary Shreedhar Sapkota, officiating Nepal Army chief Baldev Raj Mahat, Inspector General of Nepal Police Prakash Aryal, Armed Police Force IG Singha Bahadur Shrestha and chief of the National Investigation Department Dilip Regmi were present in the meeting chaired by HLSC convener Sudhir Kumar Shah.
