According to the constitution, the government appoints a governor in each of the seven provinces.According to the bill, the monthly salary of a governor is Rs60,000 while Rs18,000 is provided as dress allowance and Rs40,000 for serving guests.
The governor’s secretariat is manned by 10 employees.After Nepal passed its new constitution in 2015, the country’s transformation into a federal state has begun with the three phases of local level elections being the first step.
Elections for the federal and parliamentary elections have been scheduled for November 26 and December 7.
The government has yet to announce the capitals of the seven provinces.The governors administer the oath to the incoming chief ministers of the provinces.
