Gachhadar’s NLF to recall two ministers
Oct 5, 2017-
The Bijay Kumar Gachhadar-led Nepal Loktantrik Forum is preparing to call back its two ministers, claiming that their performance was not satisfactory while in office.
The party is expected to call Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Dev and Minister for Land Reforms Gopal Dahit within a week and replace them with two senior leaders from the party. A majority of the Central Working Committee member in the meeting on September 26 had raised question over the working style of the two ministers and demanded to replace them. The meeting held in the cusp of Dashain had agreed to take the further decision after the festival.
According to party General Secretary Ram Jaman Chaudhary, the fate of the two ministers will be decided within a week. Dropping a hinting at the formation of a new government in the changed context, he said that would automatically lead to a change in ministers.
“Even if the present coalition continues the party will call two ministers by Monday,” Chaudhary told the Post.
There are chances that the CPN (Maoist Centre) could withdraw support to the government and form a new coalition inducting two Madhes-based parties and the Kamal Thapa-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party, according to Chaudhary. Minister
Dev has been dragged into controversy for seeking
clarification and trying to remove Director General at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Sanjiv Gautam. Last week, the Civil Aviation Ministry directed Gautam to stop attending his office and be present in the ministry instead.
Some of the leaders from the party claimed Gachhadar wanted to pull out two more ministers even if they were not dragged into controversy as he wanted to create a ministerial berth for party Chief Whip Yogendra Chaudhary before the term of Parliament expires.
The term of the incumbent House expires on October 20 a day prior to the nomination for the first phase of federal and provincial elections scheduled for November 26.
Along with Yogendra, Ram Jaman is likely to replace Dev and Dahit.
