PM consults experts

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Oct 5, 2017-

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday consulted with constitutional experts over the probable situation if the Maoist Centre decides to withdraw its support to the government.

During his meetings with over a dozen legal experts, including Senior Advocates Badri Bahadur Karki, Mahadev Yadav, Prem Bahadur Khadka and Sher Bahadur KC, PM Deuba enquired about the fate of the government if the Maoist Centre tables no confidence motion against it.

Though both the Maoist Centre and UML have publicly announced that changing the government before the elections was not on their agenda, PM Deuba is unconvinced.

The legal experts told the PM that as the Maoist Centre has not taken any step against the government it was too early to suggest anything. (PR)
