The District Public Health Office (DPHO) in Dhanusha has launched ‘search and destroy’ campaign in Mithila Municipality to prevent dengue. dESachitananda Dev, an officer at the DPHO, said the campaign was launched after some people were diagnosed with dengue in Bardibas, Mahottari.
The DPHO is also running a public awareness programme to inform people about dengue and the ways to prevent it.
Dengue is an infectious disease usually contracted from mosquitoes belonging to the Aedes Aegypti genus.
High fever, head and body ache, itchiness, sore throat, and redness of the eyes are the common symptoms of the disease.
