Oct 10, 2017-

A Kavre District Court employee was arrested on Monday for taking bribe. A team of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) detained Rajendra Khatri, a non-gazetted first class officer at the district court, on charge of taking bribe from service seekers. The anti-graft team seized Rs 125,000 from Khatri’s scooter.  According to a source, Khatri had taken the money from the family of Sudip Dulal of Sindhupalchok. Police had arrested Dulal a few days ago after a tipper truck he was driving hit a jeep, injuring jeep driver Purna Bahadur Pandey and passenger Pradeep Siwakoti.  It is learnt that Khatri had coerced Dulal’s family into paying money, saying he could face eight years in jail. Dulal was released on Monday on Rs 5,000 bail.
