Top five emerges
- himalaya roadies
Oct 10, 2017-
The first season of Himalaya Roadies is now in its home stretch. With just three more episodes on the bill, the stakes are higher than ever before and so is the drama.
This episode—the 15th of the show—saw the seven remaining Roadies perform two gruelling tasks to add more money to the burgeoning ‘Roadies account’, and to earn immunity from the vote-out.
Still based out of Chitwan, the first task of the episode was a ‘money task’ where the contestants—split into two teams—had the opportunity to rake in an additional Rs 300,000 to the ‘Roadies account’. A task of guile and speed, where the two teams needed to transfer water from one container to another with their legs tied down, the two teams were eventually able to add an additional Rs 190,000 into the account.
The prize money has now swelled to a total of Rs 820,000.
The eventual winner will walk away with the entire sum, along with the honour of being the first ever Himalaya Roadie.
If the contestants thought the first task was difficult, the second—an immunity challenge—was perhaps the toughest yet. All previous immunity tasks have been team tasks, but for the first time, each person was fighting for their own survival. Eventually one contestant—Sudit Shrestha—was able to win immunity and escaped elimination.
When the vote-out eventually did happen, two Roadies—Riya Swar and Bikas Koirala—received the axe, in a vote-out which had to go into a second round because of a four-way tie.
Now, finally, the top five contestants have emerged to compete for the crown in the remaining three episodes.
Himalaya Roadies is the Nepali edition of the popular Indian reality TV show MTV Roadies. Licensed for Nepal by Via Com 18, the show will run the length of 18 episodes.
Himalaya Roadies airs every Monday at 8 pm on Himalaya TV.
