The NC-led alliance has so far six parties.
Cross-party members of a taskforce formed to finalise constituencies for the partners said they are holding informal discussions. “We have urged top leaders to provide a broader guideline,” said Sarbendra Nath Shukla, leader of the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJP-N) and a member of the taskforce.
The NC is said to be busy finalising names for the candidates under the proportional representation, a list for which must be submitted by next week.
Parties in the democratic alliance are likely to settle the seat sharing issue under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) electoral system once NC finalises its PR candidates.
NC leaders said there is a need of more consultations within the party as the RJP-N and the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal have demanded “more seats”.
