CEC Yadav tells govt not to do anything that affects polls
Oct 11, 2017-
Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has urged the government to refrain from taking any decision that hampers the scheduled federal and provincial elections.
Addressing a two-day training programme for election officials organised in Dhulikhel on Tuesday, CEC Yadav said preparations for the federal and provincial elections set to be held on November 26 and December 7 had already started. Yadav’s remarks come at a time when the government led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is reportedly preparing to reshuffle the Cabinet. Praising the government for the success of the local level elections, Yadav asked PM Deuba not to take any “unpleasant decision” as the polls draw near. He also directed election officers and staffers to work in a free and fair manner. Chief election officers and election officers from 77 districts are participating in the training.
