According to the District Police Office (DPO), Mohan Giri’s two sons—Arjun (32) and Naule (27)—were killed in an attack by Mohan’s elder brother Gorakh and the latter’s sons. Mohan’s youngest son Naresh sustained serious injuries in the incident. He is receiving treatment at a health institution in Phalasain.
Mohan and Gorakh have been involved a long-standing dispute over the share of parental land. According to the DPO, a complaint was registered with police last year following a quarrel between the Giri brothers.
Police Inspector Jagadish Prasad Bhatta said that Gorakh and his sons Yogendra and Dinesh assaulted the victims with Khukuris and metal pipes. According to him, Naule died on the spot while Arjun died on the way to Bayalpata Hospital in Achham.
The security personnel detained Gorakh and his sons Yogendra, Dinesh and Ganesh. A detailed investigation into the incident is under way, said police.
