Valley police on alert to bust firecrackers
Kathmandu Valley police has heightened security screening at major entry points to stop trafficking of firecrackers during Tihar festival. SSP Rabindra Dhanuk of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range said that Nagdhunga being the busiest entry point was placed under a high level of scrutiny. Police is also keeping a close watch on sale and distribution of firecrackers inside the Valley. On Friday, police had confiscated more than 12,000 firecrackers from a shop at Hadigaun in the Capital. A large quantity of firecrackers were also seized on different dates from places like Gaushala, Swayambhu and Singhadurbar.
