“Our party will quit the government on October 22,” said Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, a minister without portfolio from the Maoist Centre, at an interaction in the Capital.
After announcing to leave the government on Tuesday, the Maoist Centre later in the day decided to stay in the government, saying the party had received information about plans to postpone the elections.
After the Maoist Centre changed its mind about quitting the government, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday evening stripped all 17 Maoist ministers of their portfolios.
