Jhapa sees over 100 denuge cases within month

More than 100 cases of dengue have been reported in Jhapa within last month, according to the District Public Health Office (DPHO). 

Kul Bahadur Paudel, the focal person at the epi-demiology section of the DPHO, said dengue cases were on the rise in the district, particularly among the residents of Birtamod, Mechinagar, Damak, Arjundhara and Buddhashanti areas. 

The DPHO is organising dengue awareness campaign in the disease-affected areas, officials said. 

Dengue is an infectious disease usually contracted from mosquitoes belonging to the Aedes Aegypti genus. High fever, body ache, nausea, nasal bleeding and rashes are common symptoms of the disease.
