While calling on the youths of the party to counter the challenges that may come from the communist bloc, he instructed them to step up efforts to ensure victory for the Congress party.
“An alliance formed by communist forces has but brought an opportunity for us to unite and move ahead,” said Deuba while addressing a programme organised to mark the 64th establishment day of Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the Nepali Congress.
“Time has come to save democracy so I urge you all to head for villages and start campaigning for the party,” Deuba instructed the party’s youth leaders.
Speaking at the programme, senior NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel also urged the youths of the party to use their strength against the communist alliance and for the upcoming polls.
Party General Secretary Sashanka Koirala said the NC would emerge as the largest party from the two upcoming polls.
“We must unite to ensure our victory and counter the left alliance,” said Koirala.
Other senior NC leaders who spoke at the function expressed concern over the intention behind forming a left alliance by the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre).
