Nordea Bank to cut 6,000 jobs worldwide
Oct 28, 2017-
Nordea Bank on Thursday said it plans to slash 6,000 jobs globally, as it announced its quarterly results. According to Nordea, the largest bank in northern Europe, it will reduce up to 6,000 jobs, including 4,000 employees and 2,000 consultants around the world, to bring down costs and boost competitiveness. The redundancies will start later this year and continue until 2021. Minna htiainen, director of trade union Nousu, which represents Nordea’s employees, told Finnish broadcaster Yle that the news is shocking and difficult to be understood. “This kind of efficiency programmes will further lower the level of customer service and satisfaction,” Ahtiainen was cited as saying.
