‘Change in leadership won’t impact rebuilding’
Oct 30, 2017-
National Reconstruction Authority Chief Executive Officer Yubaraj Bhusal has assured development partners that the recent change in NRA leadership would not impact the reconstruction drive.
Addressing an interaction in the Capital on Sunday, Bhusal urged development partners for constructive support. “I have the experience of working in close
coordination with the ministries involved in the reconstruction process. Since the task of developing mechanism and adequate policies has been completed, rebuilding works will now gather pace,” Bhusal said, adding that the authority aims to relocate 60 percent quake survivors to newly built homes in the near future.
The NRA chief also called for support to producing trained manpower. Officials from the United Nations, the European Union, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Department for International Development, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, China and India were present in the interaction attended also by former NRA CEO Govind Raj Pokhrel.
The NRA on Sunday organised a farewell programme for Pokhrel, who quit the post for contesting the upcoming elections from Pyuthan. Bhusal promised to carry on the initiatives taken by his predecessors.
