Previously, only investors buying primary shares at initial public offerings and further public offerings could use the system.
The ASBA is an interface which investors can use to invest in shares through banking channels. Deputy spokesperson of Sebon Niranjaya Ghimire said interested investors could use the ASBA to pay for rights shares. “The system is expected to simplify the process for investing in rights shares,” Ghimire said.
Sebon has also allowed potential investors based outside the Kathmandu Valley to bid for unsold rights shares of listed companies from a number of locations including Biratnagar, Birgunj, Pokhara, Butwal, Nepalgunj, Surkhet and Dhangadhi, Sebon said in a press release on Sunday. Previously, hopeful buyers could place bids only from the Valley. (PR)
