Second edition of Jamarko being held this Saturday

Organised by Project Sarangi, the concert will see performances by over 90 musicians and also bands such as Panchamrit, Sakchyam, and Miku, among others.
“The event was organised to provide a plaform for up-and-coming musicians dabbling in different forms of Nepali ethnic music and creating music out of traditional folk instruments,” said Kiran Nepali of Project Sarangi, “We will have traditional percussion groups, tungna players from the mountains, as well as the youths who have been pursuing traditionally enriched instruments, for the event.”
Project Sarangi, a group of sarangi players working towards the preservation and promotion of the living art of sarangi by crafting professional-grade instruments and souvenirs to keep the craftsmanship alive, has also been organising several classes for Sarangi players around the valley. The upcoming concert will also see budding musicians from the Project’s three-month long workshop that took place from March through May this year.
Jamarko will start at 2 pm on Saturday and will continue till 8 in the night.
