A Cabinet meeting on Monday decided to task the Finance Ministry to bring out a special relief package for those affected by the recent spate of natural disasters, particularly in the Terai region, Finance Minister Gyanendra Karki said after the meeting.
The meeting has also decided to form a talk team to negotiate with the Asian Development Bank on a $100 million loan assistance for the implementation of the proposed Rural Connectivity Improvement Project.
Briefing reporters about the Cabinet decisions, Minister Karki said the proposed project would help ensure market access to agro products by upgrading 388 km of rural roadways in 16 districts.
The Cabinet meeting also decided to appoint Binod KC as Defence Secretary.
