Speaking at a programme in the Capital, Khand said that the Nepali people will always stand for democratic system, peace and development.
“People of this country toppled the autocratic Rana regime and abolished the Panchayat system. Communism is not possible in Nepal even if Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Oli join hands,” said Khand referring to an electoral alliance formed by Dahal’s CPN (Maoist Centre) and Oli’s CPN-UML with a goal of creating a broader communist centre. “Nepali people who overthrew the monarchy will never accept the communist’s autocracy,” said Khand, who is also the coordinator of the party’s election mobilisation committee, adding that the communist leaders’ “hollow nationalism” card is not going to work.
“We are trying to unite the people, but top leaders of some big parties are in a bid to divide them,” the NC leader said.
Khand went on to claim that the CK Raut, who is trying to divide the nation, and UML Chairman Oli “are two sides of the same coin”.
