According to UML Chair KP Sharma Oli’s press coordinator Chetan Adhikari, an agreement was reached between the UML chief and Parishad’s Acting Chair Govinda Prasad Dulal to that effect.
In a two-point paper issued afterwards. the two parties confirmed the unification process stating that it was aimed at strengthening democracy, materialising the dreams of martyrs and achieving the holistic development of the nation.
“There was no alternate to the UML for development and prosperity in the country,” the statement quoted UML Chair Oli as saying at the unification programme.
He urged the voters to make the party victorious with a clear majority in the upcoming federal and provincial elections.
On the occasion, Parishad’s Acting Chair Dulal said his party decided to merge into the UML due to the latter’s nationalistic stance.
