President leaving for UAE today
President Bidya Devi Bhandari is leaving for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday on a four-day official visit at the invitation of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan.President Bidya Devi Bhandari is leaving for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday on a four-day official visit at the invitation of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Bhandari and Crown Prince of the UAE will hold an official meeting in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. During the visit, the President is also scheduled to visit the emirate of Dubai.
Nepal and the UAE are marking the 40th year of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year, said the statement, adding that matters of mutual interests and bilateral cooperation will be figured in the meetings.
During her sojourn in the UAE, the President will also meet the Nepali community at a programme organised by the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
President Bhandari will be accompanied by her daughter Nisha Kusum Bhandari. Minister for Supplies Jayant Chand, aide to the President on foreign affairs Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Secretary at the President’s Office Bhupendra Prasad Paudel are among the members on the head of state entourage.
The President is scheduled to return home on Thursday.
