The workshop will see three film experts and 12 filmmakers mentoring the attendees. Organisers said the workshop is designed to help filmmakers better understand all aspects of film production—from script writing and filming to participation in film festivals around the globe and procedures of international distribution.
“Script writing is often a lonely and frustrating task,” said Marietta, one of the experts mentoring the workshop, “And while giving suggestion to somebody else’s script, you realise an idea for your own script.”
During the course of the workshop, the participants along with the experts will work on nine select scripts. Each script will be discussed to identify the highs and the lows, and to find ways to improve it.
Director Deepak Rauniyar, actor Asha Magarathi, and director Ramkrishna Pokhrel will be participating in the lab as guests.
The Ekadeshma Fest will kick off on November 16 at QFX Kumari in Kathmandu. Themed Let There Be Light, the fest will feature 99 shorts representing 43 countries.
