Sherpas will now take on Tribhuvan Army Club on Sunday for a place in the final. The other semi-final pits Friends Club against Sankata on Saturday.
Gurung gave Sherpas an early 14th minute lead, converting a fierce shot from the edge of the box. Man-of-the-match Gurung doubled his team’s tally in the 74the minute as the forward cut past three APF defenders before firing home the goal. Henry rubbed more salts to the APF would scoring the third in the 87th minute.
The champions will walk away with Rs 500,000 and the runners-up will receive Rs 250,000. The best player and top scorer of the tournament are assured of Rs 30,000 cash rewards. (PR)
