Addressing an election programme in Damak, Jhapa on Saturday, both the leaders said that a leftist government would be formed after two months.
Oli said left alliance is formed to achieve a specific objective, but did not go into details. “The left alliance is historic and will lead the country to new heights after securing a victory in the upcoming polls,” the UML chief said.
Maoist Centre Chairman Dahal asked the Nepali Congress to brace up for a communist government that would rule the country for the next 40-50 years. “The NC has been taking a lead role until now. But the country has failed to see much development. Now, I call on NC leaders to look how the communists rule the country,” said Dahal. He, however, said the left alliance was not formed against any parties or any one. He also advised the NC to forge alliance with other parties and move ahead.
In another programme, both Oli and Dahal said they would provide affiliation to the medical colleges that meet the required standards after the formation of a leftist government. Inaugurating “Purbanchal Swasthya Mahostab” organised by B & C Hospital in Birtamod on Saturday, the leaders expressed concern over the health ordinance which was brought by the government but returned thereafter.
NC win essential to protect loktantra, says Deuba
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said his party Nepali Congress should win the upcoming federal and provincial elections to protect and promote ‘loktantra’.
Addressing an election assembly organised at Pipalkoth in Ganyapadhura on Saturday, Deuba who is also the NC president, said the party has been providing rights, freedom and democracy to people. “This time NC should win the election to safeguard loktantra from the left alliance. So, we need to be united to win the elections,” said Deuba, who reached his home turf in the last afternoon on Saturday after addressing an assembly in Bajura. Reiterating his commitment towards making the district prosperous, Deuba said, “Some development works have been done. Some are being done here.”
